Organizational Consulting
Lorraine's experience within a large organization and her on-going consulting activities result in her understanding the realities of today's workplace. She's aware of the complex and sensitive nuances that can impact the success of a project. Her graduate program encouraged a system's thinking approach when exploring issues. She has provided service to both the public and private sectors and to a wide range of clients.
The focus of her work with organizations includes such issues as individual career fit, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, team effectiveness, and facilitating focus groups. The following are examples of her consulting projects:
- resolved a serious communication breakdown between two directors by doing individual assessments with each individual and using that information as a basis to start rebuilding the trust and increase their understanding of their styles and responsibilities
- worked with a young high potential manager whom the organization wished to retain to assist him in looking at his style and motivators and thus decide on how to be strategic and effective in his career and meet his personal needs, so he would stay with the firm
- provided career transition and job search consulting to a mid-career executive so as to maximize his transferable skills yet to address his goal of decreasing travel time and having better balance in his life
- worked with several newly created cross-functional teams in an organization to facilitate them learning about individual differences in their communication and conflict management styles and how to work effectively
- provided individual coaching over a six month period to a VP who needed assistance with how to expand his leadership style to include being more participative with his team
- conducted a focus group to capture future trends and challenges for an organization undergoing large scale re-structuring and re-branding
